OCEANSIDE, CA – June 20, 2003 - BEACHSPORT.ORG announces the 27th Annual World Bodysurfing Championships to be held adjacent to the pier on August 16th and 17th. Approximately
350-400 bodysurfers from around the world compete in their respective age divisions for trophies and prizes, beginning each morning at 6:30 AM. The Men’s and Women’s Grand Champion will be
crowned on Sunday afternoon, August 17th.
Bodysurfing is an exciting sport where the surfer rides a wave without the assistance of a board, using only fins. The World Bodysurfing
Championships are a family oriented competition with age brackets that range from 12 years of age up to 65 years and over. Each contestant will receive a T-shirt with the World Bodysurfing Championship
logo.
The World Bodysurfing Championships are sponsored by, BEACHSPORT.ORG, Bud Light and Lasseters Hotel and Casino. Vendors on the Strand will include Mervyn’s, PJ Graphics, Viper Fins, Hydro Fins and more.
